ABOUT ME

I'm a free soul who knows that she still has a lot of things to learn, and is very eager to do so. Traveling, getting to know new places, new people, and new things about myself is one way of doing it.

I'm very optimistic, sickly so; it all springs from a very critical and quite caustic view of the world, combined with a strong survival and hedonistic instinct and a bulletproof sense of humour.

PHILOSOPHY

I decided long ago to have a sort of blind, arbitrary faith in social change. I believe in the power of improving and changing your life from the most personal scope outwards, in the effectivity of small, quotidian changes (the think globally, act locally kind of philosophy). Taking responsibility for your existence, your own actions and life, is not only effective and empowering, but also deeply gratifying. All this from my personal easy-going attitude, of course, and without forgetting enjoying every moments as possible in the process!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm quite new to couchsurfing, so, to be honest, I intend to learn a little how everything works and then I'll see how I can participate. For starters, I'm putting my small grain of sand joinig this community (that, from what I heard, is quite amazing) and offering my modest couch as often as possible! Sadly, I've had to move around very often this last year, so my disposability hasn't been what I'd had liked...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Being a poor student who loves to travel like I am, staying with friends (or friends from friends) whenever possible has always been the natural option for me. I also think the only way traveling has sense is to try to get in touch with local every day culture, social issues, and seek meaningful connections with places and its people (and viceversa).

On the other hand, I was in a scout group during a very long time and hiking wandering are part of my life, and I'm sure most hikers would agree that in the mountains, and during long hikes, one often experiences spontaneous tokens of generosity and hospitality and a communal feeling very similar to it.

Music: anything that's good! Really, I'm very eclectic, I enjoy anything with personality and/or good lyrics. Living in Berlin I even got into electronic music, which is something I never thought would happen! I have a soft spot for classic rock an' roll, blues, ska and all their wonderful combinations. World/folk music, in all the extent of the world.
