ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Martha, I'm 28 years old and I'm a recent law school graduate practicing immigration law in Los Angeles. Before law school I studied international development and Spanish.
I've been traveling a lot for the last few years, and have spent time in Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Portugal, Spain, and Brazil. I cherish those experiences and I met amazing people everywhere I went.
I lived and worked in Spain for two years, first in the Toledo province of Castilla-La Mancha, and later in Madrid. I also lived in Brazil for about five months in 2012.
I like strange foods, film, music, yoga, knitting, and hula hooping. I also love cooking and am sort of obsessed with herbal tea :)
I am studying law, but I'm really a geographer at heart. I just love trying to learn about and experience new places! I have especially enjoyed traveling around the Americas.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in everything, nothing is sacred. I believe in nothing, everything is sacred.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been connected to the Couchsurfing network for many years. A lot of people I have traveled or studied with have used the network and swear by it. I've hosted a few people in Spain, and had some wonderful hosts in Portugal and Brazil.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted Couchsurfers in Santiago de Chile and in Madrid. I have surfed in Lisbon, Portugal, and in São Paulo, Brazil, and did some meet ups in Lisbon, Porto and Madrid. Nothing but good times with CS!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've traveled a lot by myself, lived in Mexico, Chile, Spain, Brazil and of course, in the United States. Some of my most amazing experiences have been living in co-ops and shared houses in Santiago, Chile and Berkeley, California. The most amazing sight I've ever seen were the salt flats in Uyuni, Bolivia. It's like being on Mars, on Earth!
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English, knitting, crochet, hula hooping, cooking, and wabi-sabi.
