About Me

I work in creative marketing/advertising and design, and have been a professional musician and singer for many years. I have traveled to several countries, and enjoy getting to know people from other parts of the world. I am fluent (but rusty) in Spanish, having lived in Spain for 3 1/2 years.

I love the outdoors -- skiing, hiking, trail running, etc. I moved to Reno/Lake Tahoe area for a job, but mostly so I would be close to Lake Tahoe and world-class skiing!

I have a dog that I adopted from the SPCA (the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) who is "all bark and no bite." He can seem intimidating at first (so, if you're afraid of dogs, you may like to find another couch), but I promise he'll be your best friend after about a minute.

My livingroom is my office, so although I'm not opposed to guests for more than a night, I'd want to stay out of your hair as much as I need time during the week from 9AM 'til around 7PM weekdays to be able to work uninterrupted. I've been told my couch is pretty comfortable, and although it's not huge, I'm happy to share!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I thought it would be a fun way to share my home and get to know people from different parts of the country & the world. I enjoy living by myself, but it's nice to have guests from time to time!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music - seriously. From Beck to Beethoven to Jobim. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Spain was an amazing experience.
Rock climbing was an amazing accomplishment, due to my fear of heights!
Flying a glider plane and learning to crew a sailboat in New Zealand were pretty spectacular experiences, too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some things about my town, Reno (and maybe point out a few good hiking trails), as well as California, where I lived for many years. I can share travel experiences, I love to talk about music and music theory, as well as anything creative. I like psychology, philosophy (though I'm a very basic armchair philosopher), and I just love disovering what makes people tick, why we do the things we do, and forging new friendships. I can share my couch, my home, maybe a glass of wine and some food.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Virgin Islands, U.S.
