OUR CURRENT MISSION

After a great 8 month honeymoon travel (September 2015 - May 2016) through a big part of the world we are currently creating a new chapter in our life in The Netherlands. Besides setting up our eventcompany we are also reconstructing the house. As soon as our guestroom is done you guys are all the first to know and more than welcome :)

ABOUT US - Cause we come in a package of two :))

Hello everyone, our names are Martijn (34, Netherlands) and Helena (28, Czech Republic) recently travelling Russia, Mongolia, China and Southeast Asia during our XXL honeymoon of 8,5 months (we could now finally make a long travel since we were in between jobs and countries). We did the first part by the awesome Transmongolia express and in total did over 13.000 km by trains in all shapes, sizes and speeds! We are a social and open couple always interested to share our stories, knowledge and experience. We also love to meet new people from various cultures and backgrounds. We often heard we are good company, open minded and "gezellig". That's a typical Dutch, non translatable expression to say we are cosy, fun... We are currently (and finally?) living life to the Max and love to meet other people who do that too!

PHILOSOPHY

To share, learn, teach, grow and to become better persons within a better world...hmm maybe we become better philosophers after a few drinks ;)

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING AND OUR EXPERIENCE

During our travels we mainly stayed in hostels and despite the fact that meeting fellow travellers is great as you can learn from their cultures and countries as well we prefer to see and hear the most about the country where we are at that moment. To live in the here and now. We enjoyed it so much when we met locals on the way and they showed us their homes, schools, work, cities... simply how they live! To meet locals on the way enriches our travel so much by giving local tips and information, it adds a whole dimension to it! That's priceless. So we love to meet and hangout for a drink or chat or for a longer time while being hosted by cool and kind CS-ers! At the same time we believe we can enrich other people's lives here from CS by sharing our cultures, hobbies, stories, jokes, smiles and so on. Normally we offer our home and bed to friends, friends of friends and so on and we are happy to show them around in any beautiful town or city where we live at that time, which was Prague for the last seven years and after our travel will be Bussum (close to Amsterdam and Utrecht, well in the Netherlands everything is close :)) in the Netherlands. By doing so we had and have awesome times and met great people that we are still in touch with.

Interesses

Martijn loves to organise events and parties, talk, make pictures, cook, watch football, inline skate, go to the sauna, and sometimes plays squash, draws, does yoga and reiki and of course loves travelling :-)

Helena has a lot of interest in and is a more than Martijn disciplined practiser of (power) yoga, spinning, sauna, inline skating, meditation, skiing, reading, raw food, smoothies, fruits...oh and fresh young coconuts!
