My most interesting book that I have read is: Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson, it explores the factors why some nation tend to succeed whilst others tend to fail. It opened a new perspective for me to our modern world and why it is the way it is.

My favorite movie is La Haine. It is a French movie about a perspective of three people in a day of Parisian riots and their adventures during that day.
