ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Martin and I am a 35 year old male and I just came back to my couch surfing profile after 11 years! It was interesting to see what has changed and what remained the same! In my life I have lived in many different places, most importantly the Netherlands, Ireland, America and China, although im pretty settles in the Betherlands now after having bought an apartment in 2019.

I also had many different jobs in my life, like tour guiding, waiting, and teaching.
But I build a career in product management in software and currently manage- or own, as the official title is product owner- a nation wide IoT platform that's used nationally and plays a role for 100.000s of people every day.
The pictures are when I was living and teaching in China.

I'm an open-minded person that likes to meet people and gets along very well too in most cases.

My favorite sports are martial arts in particular, and Ive done other sports like swimming, basketball and yoga. But I do like pretty much all sports, as I'm an active person. For example, in 2010 I ran both a full marathon and a half one, although I'm not going to run a full one again. One is enough!

PHILOSOPHY

Live life they way it comes along and how one tries to plan it. Which one is dominant? And on they way trying to make the world a better place for everybody.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got introduced by a friend to CS. He had an English man staying at his place and we hung out a bit too. My friend also got me to know some other couch surfers living in Liuzhou. They are all good people, so let's sign up too!

Thus far, all the people I met through couch surfing were very friendly and attentive!

Interests

I have a general interest in just about everything, depending mostly if whether or not the person I am speaking to is interesting.

I like movies, music, history, politics, eating, learning, etc.

My favorite movies are The Thin Red Line, True Romance, and Lost in Translation. Series would be The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Vikings.
