About Me

Hi there! I am Martina, I am originally Italian, but I have always wanted to travel and to learn to speak English well, so after my graduation I moved to Ireland for an experience as au pair. Ireland is lovely, and people are sooo friendly! Anyway, after that I came back to Italy for a while and then moved to London in March 2016, and I've lived in the UK since then. London is amazing as a city, but I am more of a country girl.. I love nature and the simple things, so when I had the opportunity to change job and move to a smaller place I did it! I lived in Canterbury for 2 years and loved every bit of it, and now I finally realised my dream of coming to Australia :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like traveling a lot, and I found that on websites like Couchsurfing you can find amazing people, and meeting them and sharing experiences makes any trip special, even because hosts are most of the time really easy-going people, friendly and very kind!

Interests

I Love horses and dogs, and generally I like simple things. I'm not much of a technology person, and instead I enjoy being outdoors. In my objectives for 2018 I put seeing many sunrises and sunsets, because the colours the sky has at those times is just amazing.. I read some books of photography and I'd like to be a bit better on it, but at the end of the day I prefer to enjoy the moment in its uniqueness .. you know that movie, the secret life of Walter Mitty? Same same :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I llllooove reading, always have!!! During time I changed and started to enjoy more "challenging" books rather than fiction ones, however sometimes, if I want to turn the brain off, I read one easy one. The genres I prefer are either some technical ones related to my interests (beekeeping, horse-riding), or classic literature, or even some related to personal growth.
Music: uhmmm.. if you see me you wouldn't imagine that, but... I really like house-electronic music, probably because I love dancing and that one has a nice rhythm :P However, I'm open even to other genres, for example some time ago I was at a friend's house for dinner, and he put on some medieval music...and I liked it!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I painted some thank you cards, and kept them in my car, so that when I drove past some houses and noticed a gorgeous garden/flowers (hay, here is Kent, the garden of England!) I put them in the box-letters. I like the idea of people finding out that a random person passing-by had appreciated their efforts to keep their garden nice :)
