关于我

ABOUT ME

I’m a 22 year old Combined Arts student at Buenos Aires University, a career i’ve just started but already love. I’ve also studied theatre production managing and a little bit of stage managing. In my free time I took ballet and singing classes, and had a short period as an acting student at the National Arts University, before realizing that I wasn't really actress material and that my heart was backstage.

Since I finished high school I’ve been working in the arts, mainly as a production manager in non-commercial theatre and theatre festivals. Nowadays I work at a cultural center in Buenos Aires that focuses on independent artists, with an amazing group of young, creative people that I can luckily call my friends. I do many different things there, working as a producer in theatre, visual arts and festivals and a couple of times as a curator in the art gallery. I love my job and can’t think of doing anything else.

I try to spend my spare time (which isn’t much) with my friends and family. Love going to gigs (Buenos Aires is full of them!), art exhibitions, performances and, of course, good parties.

I always carry a novel and an mp3 player in my purse.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In February-March 2013 I’ll be traveling around Europe with a couple of friends (mostly with a 22 year old girl name Diana) and thought it was a great idea to surf couches and get to know new people.

Unluckily I live in a small flat with my family (mom, brother and cat) and don’t have room to host in Buenos Aires (yet), but if I’m free I’ll be very glad to take anyone for a drink, show around the city or at least give some suggestions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time at Couchsurfing and I’m very excited about it! I believe the best way to truly get to know a city is through the people living there, doing my best not to be just a tourist that watches the surface but a visitor who deepens in the day to day life, and this project allows me to do exactly that.

兴趣

By now you probably have realized what my main interests are, but here I go again:

I love books and CDs, and I listen to music all day long. I spend a lot of time looking for music and each new band I find is like a treasure. I’m specially interested in independent, non-commercial culture and how it is managed in different countries. In the past years I've also been into fashion, seen not as something pretentious or snob but as a way to add a little bit of beauty to the day to day life.

I love dancing so I think parties can count as an interest too!

音乐、电影和书籍

As the natural born nerd that I am, I can assure you I haven’t read as many books, seen as many films or listen as many CDs as I should, so I’ll just enumerate some really good stuff I’ve been into lately:

I finished “The World According to Garp” by Irving a few months ago and it set the bar too high for all the other novels I read until now. On the past the same thing happened with texts by Murakami, Clarice Lispector or Julio Cortazar. I enjoyed every page of Les Miserables. The beauty of Federico García Lorca’s plays never fail.

In music: Dirty Projectors, Beirut, The Magnetic Fields, Regina Spektor (11:11 is just brilliant), Amy Winehouse, Arcade Fire, Joni Mitchell, sweet Lisandro Aristimuño, Jorge Drexler, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and tons of local bands. I feel silly enumerating musicians randomly so i’ll stop now!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Watching a rehearsal of the Colon Theatre Ballet from one of the theatre bridges above the stage. It was an amazingly beautiful experience.(The Colon Theatre is one of the most beautiful Opera Houses in the World).

Working as an intern in a theatre festival both in Copenhaguen and Malmö. You woke up in Denmark, then go to Sweden for a show, then back to Denmark for a conference. It was pretty cool, at least for someone living in huge Buenos Aires!

Watching the 2012 Arctic Monkey's concert from River Plate Stadium's field during a violent storm.

教,学,和分享

I like exchanging music with other people. I believe this is a very good way to get to know another person, just going through their favourite CDs (and books too, but that might take a little more time). So, maybe this’ll be a good chance to keep on with this practice and share some music. I’ll take some of my CDs just in case!
