Traveling and living abroad for studying, working and long-term vacaction for over a decade, I prefer staying in a country for at least a month, diving into the culture, getting to know the locals, knowing my way around town and getting some "feeling at home" feeling. That's why I'm not such a big fan of doing 20 country in 20 days. Further having studied tourism management, I hate being a tourist myself, checking off the 10 best must sees of any destination and eating at restaurants that offer their menu in 5 different languages.
Anyhow, I love hosting people whereever I live, organizing private beer tastings, bar tours, cooking traditional meals and do some insider sightseeing.

I made my first couchsurfing experience when I was traveling in Bolivia and Peru which was very positive. It's a great way to meet people, get this "feel at home" feeling and be locally integrated, not running into touristic places all the time.
