ABOUT ME
Well, I'm easier to talk to than to describe, for starters, but I other than that I'm a friendly, funny guy, curious about the world around him and trying in what little ways I can to make it a better place. I love music, food, nature, the Arts, and a good joke. Preferably all at the same time. Oh, and I travel when I can. Sometimes when I can't. My left-brained friends would tell you that I am a Carpenter, Stagehand, Horticurturalist, and part-time Jack-of-all-trades, that I am fluent in French, and that I have an 18-year-old son named Alec who is a freshman at Stanford.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Brand new to this! I hoping to meet some new friends and expand my horizons a bit, through both travel and hosting.
Interests
I would love to say that I meditate every day, but I'm usually too busy cramming my brain full of current events, politics, history, science, environmentalism, herbology and nutrition, organic gardening, and whatever else catches my attention. Sometimes I can be caught reading literature or even poetry. Sunsets and moonrises. Live music. Sitting under trees or near the water.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever seen was La Grotte de Font-de-Gaume, in La Dordogne, France, one of the oldest prehistoric cave painting sites still open to the public. I was incapable of speech for the rest of the day. The most amazing thing I've ever heard was the Chicago Symphony performing Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. I had to be helped out of my seat.
