ABOUT ME

I am a good-hearted guy, who loves being with friends, and loves music, graphic design, photography, architecture and food. I love everything that takes me out of my daily routine. And impulsivity. I've been travelling lots of places in many parts of the world, but there will always be more to discover...

I live in a 90 m2 cosy apartment with a little music studio, in the youthful and creative part of Nørrebro in Copenhagen, right next to the lakes. I love this city. It is very much minded towards young people like myself. My daily life circles around:

GRAPHIC DESIGN: I work as a creative artworker in a large design agency in Denmark. I mainly design labels and packaging for beer, cider and soda.

PHOTOGRAPHY: People know me as the guy with a camera in his hands all the time :). At work I mostly do food photography and beverage packshots. Besides my full-time job I do concert photography and a little conceptual photography. www.martinkofodphoto.com

MUSIC: I listen to music like all hours of the day. My taste is very versatile. But my favourites might be hm.... Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Tom Waits, Kaizers Orchestra, Muse, Queens of The Stone Age, M. Ward, Nils Frahm, John Mayer (when he plays guitar). But I also listen to jazz, soul, classical and etc. I play guitar, and sometimes write my own music as well. And I guess all of my friends also play different forms of music, so it's a big part of my life.

FOOD: I love tasty food. I like trying new ethnic dishes. And I love to "jam" in the kitchen - making the best possible dinner from what you have in the kitchen. I did a cooking-game with a buddy where we were only allowed to buy ingredients starting with the same letter, and then we have to get the best out of that. :)

The reason why I love couchsurfing is that you meet local people and with them you explore destinations from the inside, and experience things that are not in the guide books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing places I've experienced?

- Maya Bay, Thailand
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Culebrita Island, the Caribbeans (sailing in the Caribbeans)
- Meeting trekking bedouins in the Jordan desert, alone with just one other person. We were served coffee, and communicated without words.
