ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Martin. I've been living in Baltimore since 2011 and love it! I spend my working days teaching young children all about food and how to make it and enjoy it.

I like food, really anything and everything about it. If you know any unique dishes be sure to share them with me. I'm big into working with my hands. I try to do some amateur woodworking, but I'm not all that great at it.

I'm pretty easy going. If you enjoy card games, going out for drinks or just hanging around and reading a book then we'd get a long just fine.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to have fun. If I'm not having fun in my life I need to change something.

I also really like good beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

You can come stay on my couch/futon. I live in a house with three ladies and they are all nice. Most of us are teachers. If it's during the school year we have early nights...10:30 ish bedtime. This doesn't mean you have to go to bed that early, just means we aren't going to be up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this, but I have a lot of friends who do it and swear by it! One of my housemates is also part of couchsurfing and hosts people regularly.

I've been reading Collapse by J.Diamond and Packing for Mars by M. Roach.

I've been listening to MGMT and awolnation a lot, but you always gotta love Paul Simon.

I've been watching...not much of anything lately. I'm waiting for the new season of Dexter to start.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in all the Great Lakes....there are more exotic places I've been, but swimming in such vast bodies of fresh water, something about it makes you feel so connected with everything. Each lake has such a different feel to it. It's really amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got a pretty good knowledge of the culinary and history. I'm always looking to learn just about anything.
