About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep walking;)

ABOUT ME

Ciao world!

my name is Martina and I come from Rome which is my black and white hometown!(loving and detesting it at the same time)..
Now I am living in Edinburgh where I work for a charity organisation (don't ask what I am doing..I am a sort of multi tasking girl)...
I cycle a lot, with lots of fluorescent lights..
I also draw a lot and generally speaking I love to have a good laugh and a good piece of cake (if I can have both at the same time I'm in heaven)..

Bisous

PHILOSOPHY

Gnoti se autos (but I should use the Greek alphabet)
a vague reminiscence of my (poor)philosophical background..
it's the phrase you'll find on top of Delfi's temple..it means Know yourself (first, then MAYBE go and save the world..or just stick yourself to a nice cup of coffee with a good friend..this is not the translation anymore, it's my personal addition to it hihi..)

Music, Movies, and Books

i really like reading...but i've read so many books that i cannot decide which are the best ones!...mmmm...

trying to make a list..
-"Sussi e Biribissi"
-"The three Musketeers" by Dumas"
-"Agony and extasy" byIrving Stone
-"Children lords" by Daniel Pennac...not sure about the translation...in Italian is Signori Bambini..
-"Q" by Luther Blissett
-"Half of a yellow Sun"..don't ask me about the writer..
-How to be good by Nick Hornby

Movies?
Harold and Mode
one of Herzog,it's a crazy German director, "Grizzly man"...
"Princess Mononoke" and "The summer of Kikujiro"...don't remember the name of the Director...
I also adore the Amenabar film, named "Mar Adentro"...
"Lust, Caution" by Ang Lee, intensely painful..
And an italian movie named "Into paradiso", AMAZING and completely unknown...the story of a desperate university researcher of Naples who met by accident an ex Cricket champion from Sri Lanka (how weird is that?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing gnocchi and ravioli with all my 8 cousins in our country side house, eating in the sunshine..

People singing in the metro of Madrid...so funny!

A night picnic in Madrid!

Doing face painting with a friend of mine in a big Carnival event near Rome;)

A lot of funny people and thousands of other small and big things!!

Teach, Learn, Share

teach...it's so difficult to teach but i know that nearly everyone can teach us something...it's important be able to learn(we can learn a lot of things even from the persons that we don't like!)

share...your way of interpreting and giving a meaning to the world?
