Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted for about two years, and met wonderful people. Some of them I consider friends, and even special ones! But now the time of hosting is over for a while, and it's surfin' time!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

hosting only, but that was a blast so far! My first surfing experience was in Stockholm, with Fly and Stream, and it couldn't have been better.

Interests

cultures, religions, and their differences (Why don't I have any Jewish or Muslim friends?(Update: plenty of Muslim friends in Iran!))

Music, Movies, and Books

everybody's lists here of course.

Ok, music:
The Postal service, Pink Floyd, Absynthe Minded, Admiral Freebee, Midlake, Radiohead, Royksopp, Bright Eyes, Secret Machines, Flotation Toy Warning, Dvorak, Arcade Fire, Arsenal, ... (and soo much more)

Books:
I really loved Lovecraft since I was young, and his writing is still amazing today. My numero uno.
Second place, Houellebecq.
Then: Safranski, Plato, Camus, Gogol, Thoreau, Tolkien, GG Marquez, ... (so many more, but the memory, the memory...)
Movies: Almost all classics, but not: commercial, hyped movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Sikinos (an desolate greek island without trees) with Jona, endured three days of insane winds, and had probably my best holiday experience ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I've been working in IT for the last five years, most of my skills are in that field. Especially the internet related stuff (but people mostly ask me to fix their computers, yes I can do that too, to a certain degree).
I studied biology, with environmental specialisation. Although not an expert, I'm somewhat educated in that field.
I also was a scout master for 8 years, so I'm also used to social stuff, giving workshops, managing and teaching groups of children. Things like personal development are important to me.

Countries I’ve Visited
