About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make my way home on the long and winding road.

ABOUT ME

I'm a traveller-teacher, I go places to teach and live, then move on to find a new place, usually with a few adventures in between. I'm fairly laid back and curious, on a train journey I prefer to kick back and enjoy the ride, talking to the people around me for entertainment.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a journey, don't rush to the last page. Savour the moments given to you amongst friends and companions. Seek out new experiences and opportunities, even if you decide not to take that path, satisfaction from a life well lived will ensue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first time couch surfing, but I've met surfers before and they all seemed like a sound and interesting bunch. I'm definitely going to offer up my place once I find somewhere to plant my feet...

Interests

Once I find a place I like I to play social boardgames, drink fine beer, go to concerts ...the usual. While I'm travelling I love to take photos of architecture, have long and winding conversations with new people and visit local local's places...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Japan when I was 16, my host family took me to see a Kendo Dojo on the way to the fireworks shop. It was late at night in urban Osaka, we had to thread our way down back alleys and under neon signs to a lamp lit car park. There I saw six figures in traditional style kimonos practising liquid movements with live Katana blades on reed mat targets. I remember the blades rippling under the street lights as they were raised high. The contrast struck me. Hard. From that time I have been travelling in search of more moments like this.
