About Me

Hi!! I'm Martyna, 22 years old student from Warsaw who enjoys life and is constantly looking for new experiences and different perspectives. I love to share thoughts with new people and just be around people. I am a very social person, at this moment I can not imagine living on my own, without my roommates. Even though I'm new to Couchsurfing I have experience in traveling this way and meeting people in an international environment. In 2019 just after I finished high school I spend my vacation in Greece. Thanks to a similar website - Workaway I was living with a lovely family, helping them take care of their babies and animals. This summer I was working and leaving in a caravan on a campsite in Italy. This was a great experience thanks to an international team. For now, I'm planning to finish my studies and then move out from my country and travel, become a citizen of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe there is no better way to discover a new place and get to know a different culture than thru the eyes of the person that actually lives there.

Music, Movies, and Books

My top 3 books that I can say changed something in my life and I love to go back to them are The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, and The Trial by Franz Kafka. For the movies, I don't feel entitled to speak more about my tastes, I guess it's an aftermath of being in a film class for 3 years. I enjoy many different kinds of movies, mostly psychological dramas, but when I'm in a bad mood I will watch some old American teenage drama as a guilty pleasure. I also love to visit studio cinemas because of their unique vibe. The last movie that touched me a lot is a beautiful cartoon film by a Polish artist called "Zabij to i wyjedź z tego miasta" which means: kill it and leave this town. I definitely recommend it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I move out of my parent's home when I was 15. This experience thought me a lot and I'm really proud of myself that I learned how to be responsible for myself from such a young age.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm afraid that I don't have any special skills but I can teach you some basic polish words and talk about polish culture.
