About Me

I'm a 32-year-old Australian living in London with my wonderful wife Miranda.

We left our jobs to travel the world for one year in 2018 and after we moved to London to start new jobs.

We are both interested in spirituality, minimalism, philosophy, sustainability, simple living, conservation, culture and cuisine.

We're both restless souls who constantly dream of new tastes, sights and sounds that the world has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To understand the countries I'm visiting better by learning from real locals about their cuisine, culture and the environment.

I don't want to be separated from the countries by hotel windows and walls.

I also want to make new friends in countries I visit in case I decide to return or if they want to stay with me in Australia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drank kava, a mild narcotic, with the entire police force of Tanna Island, Vanuatu. It was only two days after a category five cyclone had battered the island and the police officers invited us to stay in their roofless barracks and drink kava with them. The following evening the entire town showed up to watch me drink it the next night. They had no access to power so they had to grind the kava in a paste the traditional way - with their teeth. A few weeks later I developed glandular fever, which took me three weeks to recover from. I'll never forget the experience.
