About Me

I just graduated from a medieval literature masters at Oxford University. I'm a friendly, outgoing, talkative person who loves music (especially folk music - I'm an amateur folk musician!), foreign languages (I speak French and Spanish, and am always looking for new things to learn), history and culture, art, yoga, horse riding, socialising, and exploring new places.

I'm used to house sharing, and am very considerate, clean and easygoing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing seems like a great way to travel, meet people, and experience cultural exchange. I'm a people person and would much rather meet other people travelling than go it alone!

I will be interning in Washington DC during October 2015, and heading to New York once my internship finishes on October 31st (Halloween!).

I'd love to meet friendly, interesting people who would be willing to let me couch surf with them in New York between October 31st and November 12th, when I will be leaving. Happy to hop around to a few different places.

In return I'd happily put you up in my beautiful, rural and quiet home county of Somerset - great cider, laid back people, superb pubs. It's best in the summer time when we have loads of festivals!

Teach, Learn, Share

Unsure what this box means!

Happy to share my expertise of medieval literature (I now have a masters in it) or literature in general, English writing help, ESL teaching, French and Spanish language teaching, singing teaching (classical, folk and pop), some basic guitar teaching.

Oh - and I've been reading tarot for the last 4 years. Will happily share my expertise and/or give readings for people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything in the teach and share box, plus I'm a keen cook and would love to cook for you! If you can think of anything else let me know :-)

I've been reading tarot for four years and am happy to share my expertise and/or offer readings for my wonderful hosts and their friends.

Also baby sitting, or ESL teaching for your kids - I have lots of experience teaching in summer camps, class rooms, small groups, one-to-one teaching and lecture delivery, for kids of all ages and backgrounds, in both English literature and language for native speakers, and English as a second language for non-native speakers!

Also any musical collaboration would be super. I sing folk music and play guitar, tin whistle and piano. Here's my soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/xxxfairymaryxxx (sorry about the lame web address!!)
