I'm a retired nurse from California, currently living in La Antigua, Guatemala. I'm doing volunteer nursing, teach English, love to read, exercise, cook and bake, study advanced Spanish, travel. I have my Standard Poodle and my British Shorthair cat here with me - they're becoming fluent in Spanish!

I love all kinds of music and read many genres of novels and histories. Unfortunately, movies are hard to come by in Guatemala - my English language movie-watching is mostly on Netflix and downloaded from the Internet.

Several years ago during a visit to the Galapagos Islands, I went spelunking - cave hiking - in a volcanic-formed cave. Now, here in Guatemala, I have the opportunity to watch our local volcano, El Fuego, erupt almost everyday!
