Hi there! I'm Mary and I'm a Study away student. I'm staying in London but I'm from the U.S originally. I'm fairly new to Couch surfing and have stayed with two people, but I had a wonderful time and look forward to couch surfing again.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, meet new people, and learn about new cultures. However, my wallet does not. I feel as though couch surfing is a real cross cultural experience. I think doing this will teach me more about myself and about different people. I want to get the most out of my abroad experience and CS really immerses you in your experience.

Interests

I have so many interests. I love traveling and performing. I'm studying Public Relations and Theatre performance at University. I love reading and writing. I love going to concerts. There is something about live music that makes me feel amazing. I also love thrift/second hand shops and flea/farmers markets.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love every type of music. Honestly, I could listen to everything. I have a pretty impressive vinyl record collection that I'm quite proud of.

The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie of all time. It's the reason why I want to go into performing. I love the Harry Potter series (the fourth book/ movie is my favorite).
John Green and Mitch Albom are my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved a woman from getting hit by a bus one of my first nights in London. She had gone to the Notting Hill Carnival and was very drunk. I just wrapped my arms around her and guided her to the side walk and sat and talked with her for a while.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what this means. I love learning. I like learning about people. People from different places and backgrounds fascinate me. I hope that I can teach others to be more compassionate and understanding. I'm always down for sharing a bottle of wine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very self sufficient. If a host needs help with anything I can help. I can keep quiet and stay out of your way if that's what you want. But I am always up for an adventure and love exploring.
