Overview
About Me
I like to travel, and now that our kids have grown we have the time to do that, as well as the space for hosting. Our home is my husband and me, and my mom, and our small white dog.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband speaks a lot of languages and likes to meet other people to practice with. We also like to travel, and would like to have friends around the world to visit when we go on vacations.
Interests

Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost all kinds of music (not country, only some opera). I'm especially interested in Broadway musicals, and classical music (especially 20th century composers).
Favorite movies are usually comedies or old movies: Galaxy Quest' His Girl Friday; What's Up Doc?; Love, Actually; Monsters, Inc.; Ferris Bueller's Day Off
I usually read non-fiction, and like authors David Sedaris, Laura Hillebrand and Tracy Kidder. Fiction books I've liked include Life of Pi and The Poisonwood Bible.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not sure if this counts as amazing, but I homeschooled my two children for seven years, from mid-elementary school through the beginning of high school. I organized events for homeschoolers around the Bay Area, and taught small classes in writing, history and science.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very fluent in English (former elementary school teacher), and can help with English writing, speaking and reading instruction.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Austria, Canada, Cuba, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Uruguay
