I'm Pakistani but I was born and raised in Brunei Darussalam and have been living in London since I was 18. My day job is at tech company TransferWise but outside of that I love getting obsessed with new music, playing the guitar (and learning the piano) and singing. I'm also part of South Asian Sisters Speak (SASS), a community organisation based in London creating safe spaces for South Asian women for discussions on topics within our community as well as a bi-monthly Brown Girls Book Club!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I was exposed to couchsurfing through my ex-housemate, Kavita Kalaichelvan who hosted a few people at our house.

As a student it was really refreshing meeting people who weren't living in a small bubble with their noses buried deep into textbooks. Instead they were interested in exploring different places and cultures and learning more about the real world. I slowly realised this is what I would love to do as well. We then spent a month in Europe in 2013 hitchhiking, busking and couchsurfing whilst raising money for the International Rescue Committee it was an absolutely fantastic experience.

Went hitchhiking around Europe in the summer of 2013- our page is here going through all our ups and downs in the trip (including me smashing my guitar, having to spend two nights in an Italian Autostop and being picked up by police officers for walking along the highway)
