I'm a student, i do a weekly classical show on CJLO, i volunteer sometimes, i love travelling. Dreaming perpetually.
nullius in verba (take nobody's word for it), motto of the royal society. basically, i jive to the beat of my own drum.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i've only couchsurfed twice... once in Toronto with a really lovely lady who had a really interesting life, who i loved speaking to and spending time with.
the second time, in new york, was nothing short of a nightmare. the host turned out to have ulterior motives for hosting young females. i was even harrassed via messaging when i posted a negative reference. couchsurfing handled the situation reasonably (the moderators cooperated and made sure that the guidelines were being followed by both sides) but the guy still didn't admit what he did and exaggerated my messiness to make me look as bad as he could while changing the focus from his inappropriate behavior to something trivial. SO BE CAREFUL LADIES. unfortunately this was much too much for me so i won't be trying any more couchsurfing for some time.
i study at university. i read a lot (largely non-fiction. also the walrus, purple mag, lapham's quarterly, and a ton of psych journals and publishings for school)
i paint a lot during the holidays (affordable gifts, heh)
i run to stay sane.
Music, Movies, and Books
movies... i don't really watch. the last couple of films i saw were man on wire and black swan. i enjoyed both.
music: just about everything except country and metal. here's my last.fm if you're interested (http://www.last.fm/user/malavorona)

if you have an eu rail pass and you're travelling during peak season, always remember to reserve seats on the train to your next destination upon arrival at current location. doing this will save you so many headaches.
