I am a single mom of an awesome 13 year old son. We'd like to meet and host people when they come to town and show them around. I have the weekends free (from my son and work) and I would love to give visitors a tour of Lexington. One of my favorite things to do is walk around downtown.

I have done a bit of traveling myself and I usually try to stay in unique places. Hostels, tree houses, castles, lighthouses, bed and breakfasts, guest houses, and tents :)

To offer my house as a safe place and my services as a guide around Lexington, Ky and to network with people who live in places I am traveling to. I like to meet up with like minded people when I travel so they can show me the things I would be interested in. Every now and then I like touristy stuff, but I'd usually rather see the "real thing".

I like non-fiction, indian food, big spaces, little noise, jewelry (particularly earrings), talking to one person at a time, being warm, original ideas that make a difference, being behind the camera, flip flops, doing things with my hands, reading with my boy, sleeeeeeep, books on tape/podcasts, crossword puzzles, dry red wine, changing the world, jigsaw puzzles, ukulele, going places.

I have entirely too many books and I regularly visit the used bookstore near me. There is no way I will read all that I have, but it is comforting to have an array of books around me as options. I like movies, but rarely find time for them. Mostly documentaries or old movies. Music-wise I love Gillian Welch, Avett Brothers, OCMS, Jenny Lewis, Wilco.... and pretty much everything from the 80's on back.

I can teach a little ukulele. I can discuss politics at length. I can talk about books and social issues for hours. I will walk and walk and walk until you think you can walk no more. I want to learn french or spanish. I want to learn about other cultures. I would like to have real conversations and I'm even up for debates. I will share whatever I have to give.
