Hello! I am a 23 year old photographer from the United States and I will be traveling for a few weeks. I have never couch surfed before but I think it would be a good opportunity to meet new people and experience new cultures.

I am from Michigan, the state surrounded by the Great Lakes, and currently I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan in a little city called Marquette. I live right on Lake Superior and I am lucky that Marquette is surrounded by incredible waterfalls and thousands of miles of forest. In the summer I love to hike, camp, swim, and cliff dive and in the winter I still camp( even when there is 4 feet of snow and it is a -30 Fahrenheit windchill!).

Even though I'm used to quiet Marquette, I still find cities to be very enjoyable! I love art more than anything so being able to travel to see the art I have studied my whole life is an incredibly fulfilling experience. Someday I would like to teach photography or art history at a university.

As I am traveling I would appreciate immersing myself into cultures even more by staying with and connecting with local people! And if anyone ever finds their way all the way up to Marquette I would love to welcome them as a friend.

Mumford and Sons, The White Stripes, The Black Keys, The Rolling Stones, Bon Iver--I really love a lot of music! I was in choir for 12 years so my interest in music are vast.

Literature is very important to me. I love poetry, and my favorite poem is Annabell Lee by Edgar Allen Poe. It is a bit depressing but it is beautiful.

Movies are also important to me as I have studied cinematography in school. Taxi Driver, Fight Club, Moonlight, and even the lion king! I love many movies.

Many things! I have lost a toe, I have camped in snowstorms, I have graduated college, but I am most proud of how much I have learned to enjoy life.

I know many things and although I am young I have a lot of life experience, both good and bad. I can teach you about art history, or about photography. I could sketch or paint you a picture too! I am also a decent cook so I could make food, although I do not cook or eat meat. One of my favorite hobbies is making paper so I could also teach you how to do that! It is an ancient art form and it is very easy!
