ABOUT ME

Mary: I am a student interested in museums and art, and I enjoy travelling to experience things both shiny and artsy, though I often do not have the money. I am having trouble thinking of anything much more amusing about myself. I tend to be quiet and tidy, but always ready to have fun and go out.
Josie: Also a student. Um...Also loving the art. And travelling. OK. Take the above, add a fair amount of quirky strange and shake vigourously. That's me. Pretty much.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have surfed twice and are looking forward to doing so again!
When we get back to the states we can host, but we live 30 minutes outside of Chicago by train..but if you want to see the suburbs....:)

Interests

Both...pretty much: Looking at art, museums, theatre, music, reading, travelling, movies, hanging out with friends, nice meals, horseback riding, sketching, um..I am sure I fill my time other ways, but forget as of now...
Josie: I like to hot glue tacks to things in geometric patterns. And take pictures. Also, with the reading.
Mary again:I really like eating black beans and bagels, which I miss -- Italy has many carbs, but not these...

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most movies (saw School of Rock a few weeks ago and can't get it out of my head) and music (though I am on a quest to find some MC Solaar).

I like to read funny books (Christopher Moore, Terry Prachett, Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut) and Ancient authors...though I am too overwhelmed with school work right now to be reading anything

Josie: I'll read anything you put in front of me. Personal favorites are P.G. Wodehouse and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I'm a freak. I also love sci-fi. And the movie Brazil. Etc. My musical tastes are so varied and strange I'm not even going to begin to get into it here. Not nearly enough room.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunset and landscape in Hawaii, pristine.

Sitting in the Art Institute with a Pollock and a Rothko back to back is pretty amazing too.

Josie: I hiked up a mountain in Alaska. Pretty nifty, eh?

Josie: I know how to take a nice picture, climb trees, draw things...I'm sure I can teach you other things, I just can't think of any right now.
