Hi! I’m Masha, a solo traveler from Minnesota, USA, currently backpacking through Europe. I’m endlessly curious, open-hearted, and always up for new experiences and adventures! Whether that’s wandering a new city without a plan, hiking to a hidden lookout, dancing until sunrise, or sharing stories over a cozy cup of tea.

I love meeting people and experiencing places through the eyes of locals. I’m passionate about creative expression, holistic health, writing, photography, and intuitive cooking (I’d love to cook for you as a thank you!), and finding cozy, beautiful, or off the beaten path spots. Some of my favorite things include markets, thrift stores, live music, good coffee, nature walks, and meaningful conversation. I’m also always down for a rave, club, or festival!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the heart of travel is people, it’s never about the destination really but who you meet along the way. CS is a beautiful way to experience a place through the eyes of someone who calls it home. I’m not interested in ticking tourist boxes and I’d rather share a homemade meal, go for a walk, listen to your favorite music, or talk about life. I’m here to connect, not just to stay :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have a deep love for all things vibey and melodic. My music taste is super diverse and I’d love to share my playlists! Electronic, downtempo, soul, indie, and lots of music from different countries (Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, etc). I love a good DJ set, live music, or ambient playlist.

Movies: Frances Ha, Before Sunrise, Videodrome, Fight Club, I Origins. I also love good animation like Scavengers Reign and Studio Ghibli.

Books: I love reading about psychology, spirituality, creativity, as well as fiction and short stories. I’m kind of in a reading slump and don’t do much while traveling but one of my favorite books is The Awakening by Kate Chopin. I love short stories too!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you how to make something delicious from scratch, guide a journaling or self-reflection session, or even show you some yoga and breathwork techniques I’ve picked up.

Learn: I’d love to learn about your city, your language, your music, your mindset—anything that reflects you. I’m especially curious about local customs, traditional recipes, and places only locals know.

Share: I’d love to share meals, music, stories, good energy, and spontaneous adventures. And if you ever need help organizing something or brainstorming a creative idea—I’m your girl.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to cook something intuitive and nourishing for you (I rarely use recipes but the results are delicious!). I can share stories from my travels and life, take some photos if you’re working on a project, or just bring good vibes, deep conversation, and flexibility. I’m respectful, clean, and totally fine with simple accommodations—floor space, couch, anything.
