Hi my name is Mateo! I am a recent college grad currently living in North Carolina, USA. I was born in Colombia, South America but moved to the United States when I was six years old. I can speak both English and Spanish fluently and have a degree in both Political Science and Psychology. I love people from all cultures and backgrounds and have an adventurous spirit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first heard about Couchsurfing from a friend about four years ago. Since then I haven't been in a place to be a host or a traveler. Currently I am planning a two-month expedition throughout Europe with the goal of seeing how people live, love, and enjoy life in other parts of the world. Reaffirming the similarities we all share.

Music, Movies, and Books

I primarily read non-fiction and autobiographies with one of my favorite books being 'Man's Search for Meaning' by Viktor Frankl.
I enjoy all music but love funk, rock, jam band, electronic, jazz, and soul
I love horror films but a well done documentary cannot be beat. 'Halloween' (the 1970's version) is my favorite horror flick and my favorite documentaries are 'Inside Job,' 'Enron, The Smartest Guys in the Room,' and 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'

I can teach English, Nutrition, and Fitness.
Have a desire to learn piano as well as different styles of cooking and of course, you :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have a lot except for my experiences, my love of people, and an able body that's willing to work. Work experience from grounds keeping and construction, to hospitality and sales. I can learn very quickly and have an open mind about everything.
