About Me

If you want to know me a bit, you have to visit my place! I can paste one of interpretation of me from Couchsurfing references (many years ago :P):
"At first he might seem a littly bit shy and mysterious, but he's awfully kind and friendly when you get to know him." But the cause of it could be that many times I'm trying to translate directly my Polish thougths into English words and it's not working very well :P

The map of some not very popular routes and places I like and I can show you in Krakow:

I like to climb trees, so if you stay in my place I want a photo together from some tree! (but it is not obligatory haha)

I live near the border of Kraków, it looks more like a group of the houses then a part of the city. My place is near the airport Kraków-Balice (only 1 km) and from there is a train directly to Wieliczka Salt Mine. And from the airport you can get Flixbus to Zakopane and prooobably some buses to Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum (but I'm not sure, so probably is better to go there from main bus station in the city center)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is fun and to make friends. It's a good opportunity to practice languages and exchange the views. And see people in their natural enviroment :P

And I have a dream about travelling (maybe by van) arround the world (hmm South America). But not now (I don't have a van yet), so I bring the world through the CS to my house.

Interests

Music, drawing, illustration, architecture, Internet explorations, bike trips (with my dog) and my little garden. I like to hike from time to time. I like explore some not most popular areas or cities to find some special places. Abandoned places or buildings is something what I like too. The one is not so far from my place.

I'm still looking for my profession and main passion or... I like changes. I finished my studies as an architect, then I was illustrator, then technical drafter, graphic designer. At 2022 I was a student of Spanish course in Institute of Cervantes in Krakow (I still want to improve my Spanish). The same year I was teaching handicrafts and how to draw in an alternative school/garden for kids. I had a hand in creating this place. It was dream job, but after 1 year my participation in the project is over and now I am a gardener, for how long, I will see :P

My current dream is to move for a few years or more to some place outside of Poland (Hmm north of Spain?). Ideally, it would be close to the sea to swimming everyday. And another mission (imposible?) is to find a job more outside of computer and not depended of one country.

I use to celebrate the end of summer by organizing The Corn Party near my home in the huge corn field. But now this corn field doesn't exist anymore so maaaybe I'll plant some sunflowers arround campfire place. And maybe you will be at the party if you have a lucky!

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up with: Porcys (music reviews - some kind of Polish Pitchfork), Unsound Festival (Polish festival with electronic, experimetal music mostly).

I like electronic music, I like The Beatles too. Blur, Morphine, Autechre, Can, Massive Attack, Polvo, El-P, Afghan Whigs, Knower, Nina Simone, Digable Planets, ... , sometimes a musical collages (check Eugeniusz Rudnik from Poland), ambient music, music from different parts of the world and sometimes I find great traditional music which for me is very fresh paradoxically. I like to discover new music. When I was younger I spent a long hour searching and listening to music. I started my adventure with music from rap...

...and after many years of listening to music too much I guess, in 20's I mainly listen to people's conversations on youtube or nothing and prefer to go for a walk without earphones.

Movies: Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, Stalker, Gadające Głowy, Jak Działa Jamniczek, Moonrise Kingdom, Mon oncle, Amores perros, Intouchables, The Mill and the Cross

Books: Everything Is Illuminated, Crime and Punishment, The Trial, Heart of Darkness

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I transformed the garage into my mini-house :P

Hmm, I was on a hitchhiking trip in winter with my friend to swimming in Adriatic in January. Later I went to sleep on the floor of female dormitory in Zagreb for the weekend and stayed there a week to drink Bambi drink and to eat Sicilian pasta.

I stayed at my CouchSurfing friend's village in Ukraine. It looks like village from the middle ages - take a look at my photos, one is from there. He made it from natural materials and by hand. And there I had an oportunity (after being convinced by my friend) to swim at the river naked first time in my adult life, it was very weird experience. It was at night in the Ukrainian forest.

What else: an episode in my live with the alternative forest school was quite interesting!
