Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All my life, I've been travelling across the world the easy way: plane - touristic neighbourhood - pretty hotel, which has prevented me to squeeze the full potential experience of my journey. Don't get me wrong, it was amazing nonetheless, but it only allows you to view a slice of the local culture.

What better way to experience the local culture than to meet local residents?

Recently I've been watching a reality show called "Race across the world" where couples compete to race from point A to point B literally anywhere in the world, with limited resources, usually relying on the solidarity of strangers along the way to even be able to eat, and watching them going through that journey did wake up some feelings in me, feelings that I wish and would love to hopefully get to experience in the flesh.
