About Me

Catholic. ✝️
Hi friend! My name is Matías, I’m 25 years old and I’m from Luque, Paraguay. I’m currently studying Tourism and Hospitality, and I’m passionate about meeting people from all around the world.

I consider myself a cheerful, empathetic, and charismatic person, always ready to help and make others feel comfortable. I love sharing good conversations, learning from different cultures, and connecting with people wherever I go.

So far, I’ve traveled to nine countries, and every trip has been an amazing opportunity to grow, learn, and understand the world from new perspectives. My dream is to keep exploring, discovering new places, and building meaningful friendships across cultures.

I live with my family, and I try to live guided by kindness, respect, and gratitude —values that I really care about and that reflect who I am.

For me, traveling is not just about visiting new destinations, but about sharing moments, exchanging experiences, and creating genuine human connections.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a Tourism and Hospitality student, I love the idea of cultural exchange and connecting with locals or travelers from around the world. Couchsurfing gives me the chance to learn, grow, and see the world from different perspectives —while also offering kindness, respect, and good vibes to others.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I don’t have one specific favorite genre —I enjoy a bit of everything! I like listening to artists like Post Malone, and I also enjoy Latin music, rock, and discovering new styles from different cultures. I’m always open to new sounds and love when people share their favorite songs with me.

As for books, I’ve only read “Atomic Habits”, which I really liked. I’m not much of a reader yet, but it’s something I’d love to improve —I want to make reading a habit and learn more through books in the future.

Movies are definitely one of my favorite things! I really enjoy romance, action, and science fiction films. Some of my favorites are Forrest Gump, The Choice, and Spider-Man. I love movies that inspire or make me feel something meaningful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I’ve done so far was attending my first tennis tournament —a Masters 1000 event. It was a dream come true, especially because I had the incredible opportunity to meet my personal hero, Novak Djokovic, who has inspired me since I was 12 years old. It’s an experience I’ll never forget!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cultural exchange —that’s one of the main reasons I joined Couchsurfing!

I can teach a bit about my country, Paraguay, our traditions, food, and way of life. I can also share my experience working in the hospitality and tourism industry, and maybe a few words in Spanish or Guaraní (our local language!).

I’d love to learn more about other cultures, lifestyles, and ways of thinking. I really enjoy listening to people’s travel stories and learning new skills or habits that make life more meaningful.

And I’m always happy to share good conversations, laughter, positive energy, and maybe a good meal or a nice walk around the city. For me, those little moments are what make traveling truly special.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good energy, respect, and positivity everywhere I go. I’m very friendly, easygoing, and always willing to help with anything around the house or during daily routines.

As a Tourism and Hospitality student, I genuinely enjoy making people feel comfortable and welcome —it’s something that comes naturally to me. I can share stories from my travels, some Latin American culture, and maybe even teach a few words in Spanish or Guaraní.

I’m also a good listener, love meaningful conversations, and I’m always open to learning new things from others. Whether it’s sharing a meal, exploring the city together, or just chatting over coffee, I’ll always bring a warm smile, gratitude, and great vibes to your home.
