Join Couchsurfing to see Matilda’s full profile. It’s free!
Hi! My name is Matilda. I'm originally from France but I partly grew up in Kentucky (US), and now I am currently studying for my bachelor's in Amsterdam. I can host around 2 people comfortably, but if you don't mind sleeping on the floor, then you're welcome to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet and interact with new, different people, I'd love to hear stories from around the world, and I figured that anyone who would be on couchsurfing anyway is worth meeting and hosting because they have the spirit of adventure :)
I love cinema, drawing, painting, photography, philosophy, playing music. I'm also super engaged politically, and love to meet new radical people and ideas.
Music, Movies, and Books
On the road, Slaughterhouse Five, Vipère au poing, The Catcher in the Rye, Naked Lunch
Enter the Void, There will be blood, Les Aventuriers, Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire, A bout de souffle, Jules et Jim, Under the Skin, 21 jump street
Kendrick Lamar, the Doors, Soko, Oxmo Puccino, Georges Brassens, Wagner,...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't traveled on my own a lot (after all, I'm only 19), but I have hiked in Scotland for 8 days with a friend this summer. We walked for 152 kilometers and slept in nature, it was really cool. I'm planning on taking a gap year/gap years after I finish Uni, and hopefully I'll just spend that time backpacking on my own and meeting lots of people and places around the world :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm super interested in philosophy and engaged politically. One of the rules I like to live by is to be as open-minded and self-critical as I can be.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my passion for cooking (I'm vegan btw) and a bit of conversation :). I think it really depends on the period of the year when you would be coming. I'm a student so there are times when I can't do much...
