About Me
NEW TO COUCH SURFING!
My girlfriend Kim and I are both 25 and met at university.
We left our apartment in central Leeds, UK in February 2014 to travel extensively. We spent 2 months in India, 5 months travelling around Southeast Asia, and a year in Australia where we worked and lived in Melbourne before heading to QLD to spend the last few months.
We'll be arriving in New Zealand in September and since we're travelling together, it's 2 for 1 at the moment!
We'll be returning to the UK for 2016 and will be living in either London, Leeds or Manchester where we'll open our doors to fellow travellers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
the main reason we couchsurf is so we can meet locals and gain a proper insight into life in the towns and cities we're staying in! Some of the most rewarding and memorable experiences we've had have been whilst staying with locals and local families to learn how they live.
We're really proud of the city we call home in the UK too, and would love to show visitors round once we're home.
Interests
Travel, good food (the two go hand in hand - I aim to try one new dish a day in each foreign country I visit and always seek out the best places) photography, videography, immersing myself in other cultures, immersing myself in my own culture - I appreciate good music, coffee, film, art, weekend city breaks in Europe, live music and partying in dingy basements.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to anything from hardcore to folk to ambient to hip hop and a load of techno especially on nights out, but it's harder to keep up with when you're outside of Europe where its popular. To name a few artists you may know: The Smiths, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Bonobo, Caribou, Lou Reed, Velvet Underground.
Used to go to a lot of gigs, clubs and discover new music all the time and back in the UK however it's difficult on the road.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled further and longer than I thought possible; we only planned to be away from home for 4 months but it's been 18 so far.
And the cliched skydive.
Teach, Learn, Share
We don't demand a lot when we stay with you. If you have a busy schedule, that's fine.
Just conversation, a chance to practice your English, experiences, music, travel tips and advice, maybe a good night out, the odd drinking or card game... and we don't mind cooking to say cheers for the couch!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking (happy to play chef for the time we spend with you and share recipes), beers, housework and conversation.
Maybe Kim and I can help you discover and experience parts of your city you never even knew about and gain a fresh perspective on it due to our inquisitive natures.
