Here are the main things I am in to:

Cooking: I absolutely love cooking, and would be delighted to test out some new recipes with whoever welcomes me into their home. My favourite food to cook is fresh pasta, using my pasta machine to cook many different combinations of ravioli filling and sauce. I also love to take the time to make fresh pizza dough (a process best not rushed). I would also say I put together a stellar roast dinner, something I do every weekend here in Bristol with friends, with cauliflower cheese being the highlight.

Skiing: Accessibility to skiing is one of the main reasons I am moving out to Vancouver. I have spent the last few years skiing in the portes du soleil in France, but it's difficult and expensive to get out there. Currently I spend most of the time jibbing around the side of the piste and venturing not to far from it, currently working on switch skiing and basic tricks. I want to progress to skiing park and my main goal is to switch to a tour set up and get out of the resorts all together!

Surfing: In the UK, most weekends I will try to drive across to Wales or down to Cornwall to go surfing. I'd say my ability is somewhere between beginner and improver, but this is something I really want to advance. I am just working on confidence after loosing a tooth whilst learning to surf!

Triathalons: Open water swimming, long cycles and evening runs, are how I keep my fitness up. I have recently gotten into triathalons, combining all three in both sprint, olympic and half iron man distances

Dogs: If you've made it this far, I would say last but not least of my main interests are dogs. I'm always trying to find opportunities to walk other peoples dogs, after not being able to currently afford one myself!

Other interests are: Salsa (the dancing kind), Playing Ultimate Frisbee, watching live music, hiking and camping.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I will be moving to Vancouver from Bristol/UK, to live and work for a few years starting on the 24th of January 2020!

To help fill in the gaps between more permanent accommodation, a friend of mine recommended couchsurfing as a great way to meet fantastic people who are able to help me get on my feet at the start of a big lifestyle change. So i have signed up to give it a go!

I like to say I have a fairly broad music taste, in the sense that there is very little I won't listen to!
But to be more specific, my biggest draw is going to see music played live. In Bristol, my ideal night out is going to watch a live Jam or band play in one of the great small bars around.

I am trying to pick up the pace of my reading (currently a book every 3 months!). My favourite author is Steven King, with the thriller/mystery/who dunnit genre being my biggest draw. However I want to get into reading more non-fiction, specifically historical or about current affairs.

I always like to mention my list of 30 things to do before I am 30. This is a list that I put together that combine things that I love doing, things i'm scared of, things I used to do when I was younger but don't do any more, and things to challenge myself.

Examples from this list are: Do a bungie jump, play guitar in a live jam, do stand up comedy, complete a triathalon, read 100 books, complete a drawing sketch book, and moving to a different country to live and work (aka CANADA!)

I enjoy sharing the full list with others and encouraging them do the same

Teach: I love to cook with people, and pass on the tips tricks and passion to other people.

Learn: Would love to learn to speak Spanish, and improve my guitar playing with someone a lot better than me. I also want to continue improving my Salsa (dancing) skills, and would be happy to share what I have learnt so far.

Share: The outdoors! I'd really appreciate a buddy to go swimming, cycling, running, hiking, camping, surfing etc. with me.

I really love to cook! If my ability has anything to do with my obsession, then you're in for a treat. Happy to pay my way with freshly cooked meals.

Music! I wouldn't say I am anything special, but I love to pick up the guitar and Jam. I'm a big fan on sharing the type of music I like to play, and trading techniques and styles with other players, and going out to watch others play live.
