I'm Matt. I am a warm-hearted, kind-eyed, open-minded artist from NYC. I am deeply passionate about music, community building, & board games! I spend most of my days leading various group singing experiences as a means to bring people together. I love losing myself in a good conversation, meeting folks whose interests are wildly different than mine, exploring beautiful nature, and approaching life with a sense of positivity and play!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find that people are the most unique, most beautiful, and most interesting thing in any new place. Did you really visit a place if you didn't connect with any of the people that call it home?

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Damn.... I love so much music, of so many varieties! Some that come to mind are.... Sara Bareilles, MUNA, AURORA, Jon Bellion, Bobby McFerrin, The Staves, Betty Who, Marianas Trench, Jason Robert Brown, Eric Whitacre, Stephen Sondheim, The Beatles, etc.

Books: Everything Is Illuminated is perhaps my favorite book of all time - poetic, poignant, hilarious, magical, historical, moving. A true masterpiece, in my opinion.

Movies: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, Life Is Beautiful, Lord of the Rings, Titanic (I have a very complicated relationship with sunken ships...), etc.
