Hi! I'm Matt, a guy from New Zealand who loves nature, culture, books and travel. I’m very new to this Couchsurfing thing but it sounds like an awesome way to meet people all around the world! Earlier this year I spent a couple of months travelling around Bali, Singapore and Japan, and in late May I'm moving to Vancouver, BC. I’m hoping that couchsurfing will help me make my first few friends in North America hahah!

Recently, I finished my degree studying social anthropology (the study of human culture and society) and english. My biggest passion and interest is all aspects of human culture and how human communities work. Naturally that also means I'm also a bit addicted to travel, exploring and adventures. I also love to read and write - though I don't get through as many books as I used to (trying to get better reading habits). Other than that, I'm a pretty chill and social person, I'm constantly listening to music and sometimes I make videos on Youtube (check me out @mattapus!).

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I'm very new to couchsurfing but it's something I've been wanting to do for ages. I'm moving to Vancouver from New Zealand in June and I'm hoping to meet some friendly people who may be able to help my move go smoothly! Hopefully I can share something with you too. :)

Music-
My music taste ranges from the bubbliest of pop to viking metal, psytrance and soul. My current playlist is a mix of The Supremes, Empire of the Sun, Lily Allen, Tears For Fears, Aretha Franklin, The 1975 and Alison Wonderland.

Films-
Kill Bill, and most Wes Anderson and Studio Ghibli movies are usually my faves. But I also love a good thriller or horror.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Earlier this year I lived on a farm in northern Japan for a week - shovelling cow poo and snow, rebuilding chicken coops, and riding in the back of a farm truck. It was fun.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I'm always down to chat about people, biology, life, history, relationships, aliens... I love hearing about other people and their stories! I'm well versed in writing and editing - always spotting the missing letters in restaurant menus and the - so if you need help with writing or just someone to go over something you've written I'm the guy!
