I haven't yet been to a place that I thought was boring or eaten a food I thought was bad (mildly hyperbolic).

Travelling is one of life's great pleasures and it brings about most of life's other great pleasures...meeting new people, becoming immersed in different cultures, experiencing nature, and of course new food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What better way is there to get to know an area than to stay with someone who lives there?
The human connection necessary when someone opens their house to a stranger is an invigorating and hopeful experience.

Interests

Passion is contagious, I love to hear what other people care about and find interesting, it'll connect you whether or not it's a shared interest.

I have an insatiable curiosity for knowledge in general, learning new things is mental sustenance. I'm particularly interested in science-related things (especially neuroscience).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm easy to please, if there's a rhythm and a few different notes I'll listen. Hit me with your mixtapes and the song you wrote in the shower. I'll dance to the good ones, and smile through the bad ones.

Movies: I'm a sucker for great cinematography, all else can be forgiven. Some favourites: Bill Murray, Robin Williams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Imitation Game. Books: Primarily non-fiction, although I've read my fair share of fantasy in the past. All literature is valuable and I only wish I had the time and energy to read it all.

Exploring a long abandoned resort that had been overtaken by the jungle on an island in the Mekong, Cambodia
I've never yet been pick-pocketed or robbed, and haven't taken any major losses due to swindlers. An achievement worthy of some acclaim, I think.
