About Me

I'm an avid traveller and keen outdoors enthusiast. My educational background is in science - specifically ecology and evolution - which drives my love for being outdoors amongst nature. I spend much of my free time rock climbing, canyoning, hiking, caving, and scuba diving.

I love travelling for the richness of experiences that it brings, from different cultures and new people, to beautiful landscapes and flora and fauna that are completely new to me.

I am politically of the left, strongly egalitarian, liberal-minded, and hold progressive values.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The older I get, the more community and the people in my life mean to me. Many of my most memorable experiences on the road are a direct result of the people I shared shared them with. So far all of my CS experiences have been positive. I love meeting new people and CS is a great way of making new connections and friendships whilst travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: varied, but anything that speaks to me on an emotional level, ranging from modern classical to techno to ambient to glitch.

Books: often non-fiction as I love to continually learn, but well written fiction is always appreciated.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Attempting to live a life true to myself and valuing the fact that time is precious.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and sharing my knowledge of biology and talking science and philosophy. Always happy to teach people how to climb, or to take them out canyoning or hiking. Love learning new edible plants and mushrooms, and teaching people what I know if they're interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations on a broad range of topics, sharing different views, and exchanging different interests.
