About Me

I'm tall, awkward, lanky, and odd, but I'm good with that. I'm a software engineer, and a nerd. I love to backpack and travel. I'm a hasher (don't worry if you don't know what that means, but hit me up if you do!), and do a lot of my travelling for different events.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm infinitely curious, and love to travel. This seems like a great way to combine the two! I love to meet new people and learn from them - exchange ideas and experiences. I also love to travel, so the ability to meet people while away from home and find crash space sounds great, though most of my current travel is limited to the Eastern US.

Interests

I love software and philosophy, video games and wilderness. I'm kindof all over the map, but there's a good chance that we can find something in common to talk about! I appreciate good food and drink and would always appreciate any advice on local cuisine or nightlife, or any other local attractions or landmarks!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to rock, bluegrass, ska and just about anything else. Recently, I've been mostly reading books about philosophy and spirituality, but I'm traditionally more of a fantasy/sci-fi reader.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 17, a friend and I got a job at a local pizza shop and saved up for months. Shortly after we graduated high school, we took off across the country on a 19 day road trip from WV to Seattle, down the coast of California, back through Vegas and Texas. It was pretty phenomenal! I think that experience really cemented my love of travel and exploration at a young age.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got two couches that are large enough to sleep on comfortably - neither is old; neither is luxurious. I'm a fair cook, if that's something that interests you - I always enjoy cooking with others, particularly if we can share recipes!

As far as skills that I could share, I don't know that I have a lot that could be taught in a night or two, but I would always be happy to introduce you to basic programming and soc

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't know that I have anything atypical to share - stories, connections to other people, experiences, conversation, and an exchange of ideas are all things I can offer. Beyond that, I'd usually have a few bucks to help out if I'm staying over.
