About Me

Planning next trip...
ABOUT ME
I am a 39 year old male that once did some travelling and am currently massively in debt to couchsurfing.
PHILOSOPHY
I love new experiences. I get very restless amongst the mundane and repetitive. I am open minded. I want to know more about all things. I like people that can teach me something I didn't know or change my mind about something I did.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travel. I host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Brilliant, made for the most varied, interesting and weirdest trip possible.
Interests
My interests are pretty varied? I don't like golf.
I have always had a love of music, everybody says this I suppose but I have a fairly eclectic taste, they say that as well.
Alcohol, running, surfing the internet, voyeurism, procrastination, music, all forms of traveling, the sun and spectroscopy, biscuits and nuts, film, sleeping, take aways and restaurants (why I do a lot of exercise), lot's of reading, swimming, watering plants and astronomy.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have never seen Grease or any other musicals and I am very proud of that.
Music - The rolling stones, Velvet Underground, Brian Jonestown Massacre,.
Techno, HOUSE. I like raves.
Music, lot's of other stuff 'RAVEY' I can't be bothered to list? Loads of bands etc etc and anything non shit????
Not a very fluid dancer but enthusiastic about it nonetheless.
Favorite Books - Infinite Jest, The Evening Redness in the West, Crooked Hearts, Evelyn Waugh, Suttree, anything by Cormac McCarthy? Stefan Zweig, Wally Lamb, Don Delillo, Robert Boswell, The Idiot, Moby Dick..........................Big books, little books. Comics. Books about science .....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Can't pick 1. I have been lucky enough to have experienced lot's of amazing things.
Swimming the Great Barrier Reef.
Helping my family turn an old hotel into a beautiful art school in Southern Spain.
Jumping out of a plane.
Water melon beer.
Highway 1 California.
Berlin.
San Francisco, nicest people ever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an encyclopedia of mildly impressive but not that useful facts, I would be a competent companion in a pub quiz. However my memory for dates and names is astoundingly bad and gets me into hot water.
I can teach you how to tell where South is with an analogue watch if you needed to know and didn't have a compass (or an analogue watch). Not that useful these days but you never know.
I am a competent cook.
I have traveled about a bit which would make me fairly worldly wise I guess ??! And read enough books to be enlightened and properly cynical about a lot of the things we are forced to put up with in this world. Not couch surfing though :)!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my wonderful flat, it is very clean.
I have a balcony with nice plants on.
I have a really long sofa you can stretch out on and also another sofa that turns into a bed.
I don't have a TV so we have to talk or just stare.
I will cook for you and provide you with wine.
