About Me

Meeting new people, making friends, learning, and just having fun.

I just wrote a book on my travels, musician, playwright, photographer. I love to travel of course, music is my ultimate passion, both playing and listening. I love film, Stanley Kubrick. I love photography, and recording music. I've been playing drums for 20 years, and guitar, piano, bass on and off as well. I love language, I love to write, about anything and everything, life, satire, nature, critique, irreverence, how things and ideas evolve, studying influences, social change, what prompts our motivations. I love comparing and contrasting. I love maps, I try to remember to get a newspaper from every city, not only to see what's going on, but to see how we write, similarities and differences. Basically, I love spending time with friends, meeting new friends, and just having a good time.

I try to look past borders. I live to be as happy as possible and to meet great people. It's the people that make the place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted in the US, mostly in Michigan, surfed in Australia, meet-ups and events all over Europe.

Great people, great fun... I've met so many great people, some friends that will last a lifetime!

Music, Film, Writing, Reading, Comedy, Basketball, Photography, Nature, learning, curiousity, maps, newspapers... New CD is out,
I write, play all the instruments, engineered, and produced.. Please check it out and spread the word!

Just wrote a play, published a few books, one on my travels, "How Did We Get Here" - they are all on Amazon, and you can read quite a bit for FREE! (I understand backpackers are trying NOT to spend money to keep the travels going)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Supertramp, Steely Dan, ELO, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Rush, Alan Parsons Project, Wings.

Some movies I love are Nashville, La Strada, The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Ace In The Hole, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Edukators, American Beauty, There Will Be Blood, A Clockwork Orange, Magnolia, Network, Citizen Kane, On The Waterfront, The Godfather, 12 Angry Men, The Grapes of Wrath, The Battle of Algiers, The Lives of Others, Glengary Glen Ross, Annie Hall, Falling Down, Ordinary People, Trainspotting, Barry Lyndon, Full Metal Jacket, This Is Spinal Tap, Paths of Glory, Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, A Face In The Crowd, You Can't Take It With You, Run Lola Run, The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, Kramer vs. Kramer, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Midnight Express, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Its the people that make the place! It's why I travel. I'm truly lucky to have had the opportunities.

Traveling probably gave me the inspiration to write my book, "How Did We Get Here" and releasing my self-published CD where I play all the instruments, produced it myself without the help of any special effect, computers, etc... Organic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching whatever I know. I believe we all have a responsibility to teach others, and to learn from others. I enjoy teaching music. I can speak Aramaic, can write/read in Greek, and would be honored to show you. I believe very strongly in sharing and our ideas as a way to help the world, and ourselves.
