About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live a very good life

ABOUT ME

I think there's always the chance to learn something in any situation, and it's good to get out of your comfort zone.

I think meeting people is one of the best things you can do; when you take away money and fancy things and fashions and all those things that don't really mean all that much by themselves (nice things are still nice though!), most of what you are left with is people and human interaction, so I think it's good to try and make the interactions good ones. I'm a firm believer in infinite human potential, and that people can do incredible things if they choose to.

I love travelling; it's often said that the world is getting smaller, but on ground level the world is still very big and full of more cool stuff than it's possible to look at. I want to look at all of it. Humility is good and travelling can help make you humble.

I am intelligent but like to do silly things sometimes.

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind and don't take yourself too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think that couchsurfing represents something wonderful about humanity. We can meet awesome people as strangers and depart as friends, forging meaningful connections based on mutual trust, respect, a love for life and a willingness to learn from one another. Infinite human potential!

Unfortunately I can't offer the services of a couch right now, but I look forward to a time in the (hopefully near) future when I can do so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only stayed with a few people (in Turkey and Canada), but all have been amazing and a credit to the couchsurfing community!

Music, Movies, and Books

I think there are examples of incredible music in all genres, but I do like a lot of jazz, blues, funk, world music, dnb and electronic music

Films: Encounters at the End of the World, Pan's Labyrinth, Studio Ghibli, documentaries that make the heart soar

I can never read enough. So many words. Some of my favourite authors are Murakami, Iain M. Banks, China Meiville, Bulgakov (though I've only read Master and Margarita), Theroux, David Mitchell and Dan Simmons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost stacked a complete deck of scrabble tiles into a tower once.
