I grew up in Sydney, Australia, but have spent the last several years traveling around the world (visiting over 50 countries in three years). I'm very excited to finally have the opportunity to visit New Zealand, meeting the people and experiencing the beautiful nature.

Interests

When outdoors I enjoy rock-climbing, hiking (especially up mountains) and cycling. I also do a lot of reading in my spare time, and am also into photography to document my trip (I have put a few of my favourite photos on my profile).

Music, Movies, and Books

My Kindle and iPod are two of my favourite travelling possessions.

I mainly read a wide variety of (mainly) non-fiction; the last books I have read included "Into the Wild", "The Wave", "Born to Run", and the "Game of Thrones" series.

My music tastes include electronic, jazz and alternative. Groups I like include DJ Shadow, Air, Doves, Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few things this trip come to mind:
- Watching the Arirang Performance (mass games) in Pyongyang, North Korea
- The spectacular scenery surrounding advanced base camp on the Tibetan side of Mt Everest
- Encounter with mountain gorillas in Rwanda
- Watching the northern lights dance at the "Magic Bus" in Alaska
- Riding a bicycle down the west coast of the States, from Vancouver to San Francisco.
- Watching the millions of stars that make up the Milky Way while in the salt flats of Bolivia
