Hey! My name is Matt, I am a 20 year old student who is taking some time off to travel around North America, meet new people and experience new ways of life. I was homeschooled for most of my life due to anxiety issues, so I never really was able to have a social life and make friends like kids who went to public school. I'm a bit of a geek, I love technology and my hobby currently is photography.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm like any other young adult, I'm confused about what I want the rest of my life to represent. I was never able to figure out exactly who I am as a person, so I would love to use Couchsurfing as a platform to meet new people around the country as I travel.

Interests

Technology - Any of it! I love computers, both software and hardware.
Photography - I love the simplistic beauty of nature that many of us overlook.
Traveling - I want to experience life from many angles, meet as many people as I can, and learn as much as possible along the way.

Other interests include reading, writing, gaming (More of a PC gamer), hiking, swimming, outdoor sports, video editing/design, and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love indie and classic rock. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, The Who, White Stripes, AWOLNATION to name a few. I also enjoy some trap remixes, such as Woodysproduces' remixes.

I love comedy shows. Saturday Night Live, MadTV, any good standup, shows that make me laugh. But I also love a good series, such as House of Cards or Orange is the New Black (Can you tell I watch Netflix).

I will read anything, as long as it can keep me interested. I have hundreds of books in my apartment that have been worn thin. My favorite books would have to be the Harry Potter series, Alex Rider series, Cheddar, and Holes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It might not be amazing to anyone else, and it probably is extremely childish and immature, but street racing in a 490hp 5.0l V8 Mustang going around 160mph was probably one of my biggest thrills yet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn everything I can. I'm from a small town, I have not experienced as much culture around me as I want. I want to see awesome places, learn things that will help me throughout my life, and share all of those experiences with anyone who is willing to listen. I am a very helpful person and hope that I get the opportunity at least once along the way to make someone's day brighter.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a "go with the flow" type of person, and often others will find that they are more relaxed around me. I am an extremely grateful guest, your house will be cleaner than it was when I arrived. I'm looking for hosts that want to take time and explore their hometown with me, but will be just as happy with a place to grab a quick shower and a nap.w you can help.
