Hi, my name is Matt. I grew up in Jersey, Channel Islands/UK, but I have been living in Brisbane, Australia since my early teens. I am currently studying Finance and Economics at the University of Queensland and I am just about to finish my semester long study abroad program at the University of South Carolina.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been doing the generic backpacking/hostel-ing/hotel-ing since I was 17 and now I am looking to change things up, try something new and meet some interesting people along the way.

The more travelling I do, the more I have realised that I'm not someone who wants to rush around ticking off the tourist sights, but instead I'd rather spend my time walking around, taking it slow in parks/cafes/restaurants/bars and getting to know a place really well.

Interests

Travelling, outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking, rafting), aviation, current affairs, macroeconomics, music...and I am trying to become more interested in health, environmentalism and personal development.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few of my travelling highlights of the top of my head are caving in Tennessee (we slept in the cave too), hiking in Yosemite NP and walking part of the Great Wall of China.
