I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California,
and I moved to France after graduating from university and am living in France working as a Primary School English teacher until this next Fall where I will start my graduate studies in Development Economics and International Political Economy in the UK.
I have been very fortunate to have traveled to a lot of places in the world and I would love to share my experiences, but ideally in person when you accept my couch surfing request haha.
Other things about me:
Eating, I am so good at that!! but I also really really love cooking for myself and others and can offer that as a couchsurfing guest! In my free time I would probably spend it in a park with a book or in the company of good friends!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Well I have had a couchsurfing account for a really long time but have never used it, but now is the time… (cue music)
Now is the time because the primary school I work at will have its winter break until the end of February and I would like to come visit Spain! I havent used couchsurfing before because normally when I travel I stay with people I know and most countries I have travelled in don’t use couch surfing.
I love to travel, but I don’t like doing the normal tourist things of going to monuments with other tourists(I can google that). Id prefer sitting down, talking and getting to know someone meaningfully over a good meal than wandering the city alone. When traveling I especially like getting to know people who are from and know the region themselves, who are eager to also share their experiences, culture and food (most importantly food!!!)

兴趣

I am a very curious person and can be interested in pretty much anything haha, especially if someone is sharing with me what they are passionate about.
I like history, politics and philosophy and enjoy having meaningful and honest conversations with people about what is important to them in life and how they understand their world.
I like the outdoors and even when I visit a big city, I often find myself turning up in the city's parks or open spaces to read, sit and just watch people pass by.

Listen to فيروز in the morning, Bad Bunny in the afternoon and E-40 before bedtime hahaha. No I really love music, I think it is one of the most beautiful art forms and it is often what gives me my creative inspiration. I am proud of where I come from, the Yay Area, and would be happy to share the Bay’s music with you if you aren’t familiar already. i could talk about music all day, so ill stop here.

I love books, but would like to read more than I do at the moment :/
I kind am a walking library, and always have way more books on me than is actually possible to read.

I love films
Wow I just love everything haha,
But I really am a giant cinephile, I love movies that challenge how you think and see the world around you. And like music, I feel films can be a super powerful form of artistic expression. I don’t normally have favorites per say, new things inspire or excite me over time. But a film I saw recently that I felt was really powerful was Les Misérables by Ladj Ly, not the Hugo classic, but 2019 film.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I hiked the tallest mountain in North Africa Mt. Toubkal.
I have taken a 50 hour train ride from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala to New Delhi.
I have also taken a 24 bus ride with a herd of goats from Ouagadougou to Accra.
Lots of public transit it seems haha (I probably have much more amazing things than public transit, but nothing really immediately came to mind hahaha, trying to write this quick)

and I know we are supposed to put really wild or crazy adventures here, but if i was to be honest, the most amazing thing ive done is make meaningful friendships and share laughs with people ive met wherever i go. that is something that is hard to put in words, and doesnt maybe look that cool on paper, but is sincerely the most beautiful and valuable thing to me.
