I live and teach in Daegu, South Korea. I haven't travelled overseas in five years, and I am totally new to couchsurfing. Friends of mine host people in Daegu and it has always looked to me like a rewarding and fun experience. I'll be in the US from late July to mid August, visiting LA and New Orleans. Very excited!
