Hi! 你好！¡Hola! Hallo! My name is Matt, and I'm from the United States. I'm looking for a host so that I can have a richer travel experience. I love learning languages and learning about new cultures. I also love music! I play the bassoon and the trombone. If you host me, I'd be happy to practice my English with you, or teach you anything about some of the languages I know. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that an essential part of travel is connecting with the local people. If you go to a city and don't meet any locals, how will you learn anything about the culture? I'm here because I am interested in both sharing my culture with others and learning from others. Staying with and hosting other people makes for a much richer experience, one that I want to cultivate.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to be an ambassador for my culture. We can have lively discussions about cultural differences and similarities. I am totally open to practicing my English with you; I work with international students, so I am good at coming up with topics of discussion and rephrasing things you may not understand. I am also very curious about other cultures: so far, I have traveled to Spain, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and China. It would be great to be able to discuss travel with my host.
