Music, Movies, and Books

Music: lots. Rock and hip hop mostly. Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, Wu Tang, NIN, Classical music....

Movies: I'm a film geek. My favourite films are probably Mulholland Drive and The Tree of Life. Although I have just seen Moonlight, and that was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Books: Too hard to pick. Freedom by Jonathan Franzen, On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan, Harry Potter, Steppenwolf, Catcher in the Rye, the Bible, Siddhartha, The Corrections, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Lit. Dispatches. The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having my beautiful son tops the list, but I was an underground gold miner for two years in charge of blowing up the rock in Western Australia which was pretty cool, then I gave it up and moved to Byron Bay and surfed for a year and volunteered in a Buddhist homeless shelter. Then I became a teacher.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had a whole lot of experiences - good and bad. It's a crazy life. I have learnt a few things, but I am always learning.

And of course I can teach you about my beautiful country, New Zealand!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are low maintenance and clean up after ourselves. I love to listen to people's stories. My son Jude is adorable and charms everyone he meets. I can tell you a few stories myself, and offer a few nights in a Bavarian village, or NZ when we go back home.
