Things which I love or care about include: the state of the world, nature, my garden, green and socialist politics, music (traditional, jazz, rock, classical, world etc), walking in the hills, travel, cities and buildings, reading ... After decades of working in economic development in city councils, I now work on climate change and sustainable economics. I have four wonderful grown-up children.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel I love to know the places I visit properly, which is difficult in a hostel or a hotel. I'm keen to connect with local people who have similar interests to me. And I like to welcome travellers to the beautiful city which i live in and tell them about it.
